I started Reigning Pets Northwest in 2007 as my way of bringing to your pet the creature comforts they deserve, as well as the quality, convenience, and value that are important to you. I have enjoyed a life-long love and compassion for animals, and have owned and cared for an extensive list of companion animals, including dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, fish, hamsters, gerbils, mice, rats, guinea pigs, turtles, her
mit crabs and more!
When I am not taking care of your pets, I am a competitive swimmer and triathlete, and have swam in exciting endurance events such as the Alcatraz Shark Fest Swim in San Francisco, California. With the value I place on physical health and well-being, rest assured that I will not tire before your dog during our walks together!
I also enjoy camping and hiking in our beautiful Northwest setting. I love our Portland weather, especially those cool, rainy days. Having grown up in the Midwest, it is a treat for me to be able to work in our mild Portland weather. For those who are not so fond of getting soaked while walking your pets, allow me!
Prior to Reigning Pets Northwes
t, I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Northern Illinois University and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Portland State University. I worked in the corporate world as a financial analyst for about 10 years, then made the decision to dedicate myself to what I truly enjoy... caring for pets. I am so thrilled to have made this decision, and look forward to providing the best care available for your pets!
In August of 2009, I took in a 6-month old black stray kitty who we named Piper. In June of 2011, I started a fish tank which is now the happy home to guppies, x-ray tetras, african dwarf frogs, bushy nose plecos, and albino cory catfish. In July of 2011, I will be bringing home a sweet little black lab puppy, the newest addition to my growing family.
I am also very blessed to be surrounded by loving family and friends who have supported me wholeheartedly in my endeavor to follow my dream of providing professional pet care through Reigning Pets Northwest.
In June of 2008, my family and I brought home an 8-week old Black Lab. At first, he was "just a family pet". After one year went by, I decided to make a life change and focus on dog training as a career. With lots of family support, I enrolled myself in Animal Behavior College and started studying to be a trainer. Although my dog Jake is a one hundred pound crazy lab, he’s been my partner through this process and has come a long way in obedience.
I have lived in Oregon my whole life and I love it here. Twelve years ago, I met my wife Breah and seven years ago my beautiful daughter Julia was born. Together, we live in Troutdale with our dog Jake and cat named Kita, and are happily surrounded by our extended families. When we all get together, we like to play Cribbage and Rummy. My daughter may only be seven years old, but she will take you down in a game of Rummy. Although I’m not very good at golf, I still crave to play every summer. And with Mt. Hood nearby, skiing is a huge passion of mine.
I met Amy through Animal Behavior College and I am grateful to have the opportunity to work for Reigning Pets Northwest. I believe my future is bright and filled with enjoyment, and look forward to taking care of your pets.
Tyler manages many aspects of our business operations, is one of our certified dog trainers, and also covers many of our pet sitting and dog walking appointments.
I’m thrilled to be working with Reigning Pets because of our fantastic, caring team -- and the animals who make it worthwhile! I grew up in southern Indiana, but I’ve been lucky enough to travel pretty extensively here in the U.S. and abroad. After completing a bachelor’s degree in Literature at Bennington College, I began volunteering at the Monadnock Humane Society in Swanzey, New Hampshire. I loved every minute I spent with the dogs there, and my experiences with them led me to pursue a career in service to animals. In the future, I plan to return to school and earn a degree in animal behavior.
My boyfriend and I moved to the Portland area in October of 2010, and we already feel at home thanks to the wonderful locals. In April of 2011, Cameron and I adopted a timid ball python who desperately needed a good home. Since then, Julian has blossomed into an outgoing and adventurous snake, and we wouldn’t be a family without him. When I’m not breaking a sweat climbing hills with the dogs of Portland, I keep my body strong by weight training and practicing pilates, and I exercise my mind by going to the local library or museums. I look forward to meeting you and your pets and providing you the best pet services Portland has to offer!
Sarah covers many of our pet sitting and dog walking appointments and supervises our growing team of Pet Care Specialists.
I am so glad to be working for Reigning Pets Northwest because not only do I get to spend my time caring for animals, I also get to work with a group of caring and energetic pet professionals.
I recently left the dry heat of the desert in exchange for the moderate climate of the pacific northwest and am excited to call Portland home. After earning a B.A. in English Literature, I worked in residential and commercial lending. I have also spent the past ten years working as a pet sitter. I am happy to be able to continue caring for family pets. There is so much joy in being greeted by a meowing kitty or an oh-so-excited, tail-wagging dog!
I love and spoil two cats who are the best of buddies. They are always up to something so there are plenty of high-jinx at our household. In my spare time I enjoy keeping healthy by doing yoga and hiking the trails around the beautiful city. I'm a bit of a bookworm so I spend lots of time reading and, with the help of a wonderful knitting circle, I've recently learned how to knit.
I am grateful for the opportunity to work for Amy and Tyler and to meet your beloved pets!

I am very excited to be working for Reigning Pets Northwest, and I would love to meet you and any and all of your pets!
I am fairly new to Portland, having grown up in Wisconsin, but I am enjoying the West Coast very much. I earned my B.A. in Theatre and Drama from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in May of 2011, and I could not have picked a more fun, dynamic, or rewarding way to enter the workforce post-grad than with Reigning Pets NW. While I was still in school I worked as a stage manager on many plays and musicals as well as at concerts, fashion shows, and other large-scale events.
I am truly a lover of animals, and have one kitty of my own named Amelia. She is a troublemaker and keeps me on my toes during the day, but she can be sweet and she warms my feet at night while I sleep.
One of my other loves in life is books, and when I'm not taking care of pets, you could probably find me trolling the aisles of some used bookstore in town or reading in some park. I also like to take in live performances of all kinds and movies too.
Liz covers many of our pet sitting and dog walking appointments.
